Worked perfectly on Alto K10

I purchased JioMotive today and am quite impressed with it.Vehicle Used: Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 VXI AGS (2023 model)My Experience:1. The device worked perfectly with my Alto K10 VXI AGS without any compatibility issues.2. Installation was very simple and took only about five minutes. I recommend watching the setup videos in the JioThings app while waiting for the product to arrive.3. Activation was completed within approximately 30 minutes.4. All advertised features are working as expected.During the initial setup, I encountered a \"Couldn't connect\" / \"Something went wrong\" error while configuring the data plan. After contacting customer support, the issue was resolved immediately. The fix was straightforward: uninstall the JioThings app, set the phone's date and time to automatic, reinstall the app, and complete the setup again.I tested the device during a drive. Ignition ON alerts were received within a few seconds, while Ignition OFF alerts arrived within about a minute. Overall responsiveness has been good.Sharing is also very easy, simply add your contact (phone number) and once he/she login/sign up with same number, he/she can see it right from their Jio things app on their device.One suggestion for future updates would be to provide an option to transfer the linked eSIM/data setup to a different mobile number if needed.Although the initial purchase price is higher than some competing products, Jio's brand reliability and the lower ongoing recharge costs make it more economical in the long run.It is also worth noting that JioMotive is a plug-and-play OBD device. While I would not consider it the ultimate anti-theft solution, it is an excellent vehicle monitoring and tracking device.Remember, you needs one working Jio phone active plan to assign esim with that, also this is clearly mentioned in product features. Also I'm using other esim associated with my main Sim for Samsung watch and both product working fine.Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

JioMotive OBD GPS Tracker: think carefully before buying

JioMotive OBD GPS with WIfi Hotspot: The product app is not allowing me to make changes to some of its features, like enabling or disabling certain notifications. This feels fishy, as if Jio is using this product mainly to spy on its customers for data collection. The manual mentions web admin access, but its not allowed at all. Another problem is that you cannot delete the trip logs it creates and saves on the cloud. Everything surrounding this product feels suspicious, so be cautious before buying.Unlike other IoT products or routers, this one seems to be designed entirely under Jios control. The user just plugs it in and has no freedom. The only option given is to change the WiFi password, but even that is limitedsymbols are not allowed in the password, and the SSID length can only be up to 8 characters. In which era is Jio stuck with such restrictions?The GPS tracking is not reliable either. The device does not fully log the route; only half the path traveled with the car is recorded. Geo-fencing is another headache. Even when the vehicle is parked at home in the marked location, it often loses signal or sends unnecessary notifications at night saying the vehicle has moved out of the geofence, followed immediately by another notification saying it is back. This happened while the car was securely parked in a heavily guarded area with three CCTV cameras covering it and the gate locked. These fake alerts only create panic for no reason.The main highlight of this product is the in-car router feature, which makes you think its useful because you get internet inside the vehicle. But thats just the trap that makes people buy it. From my experience, you spend your money but you dont get any real control over the product, while on the fishy side Jio uses it for its own data collection.Importantly, the app itself appears to require and collect highly identifying information for the device to function things like IMEI, ICCID, your registered mobile number (RMN), vehicle details and location, and purchase/invoice information. When you contact support they ask you to reconfirm the same data (IMEI, RMN, ICCID, error screenshot, vehicle model & year, complete address with PIN, app version, device LED photo/video, invoice copy). That combination (device ID + SIM ID + mobile number + vehicle + full address + invoice) creates a complete profile linking you, your car, the device and its location. The app wont work without providing these identifiers and support asks for them again, which effectively locks you into a permanent, company-controlled profile with little or no ability to opt out or delete logs. This level of profiling is unnecessary for normal troubleshooting and is a serious privacy concern think carefully about how much personal and vehicle data you want a single company to hold and control.If you are planning to buy something like this, my advice is to go for a SIM-based router and a GPS tracker separately, and preferably from two different companies. For OBD features, it is better to occasionally get your vehicle checked at a workshop or separately buy a Bluetooth OBD II Scanner Code Reader compatible with Android & iOS devices. Your privacy and your data are more important, think carefully before buying this product.This product may suit those who just want WiFi and basic tracking, but if you care about data privacy and control, think very carefully before buying.

More than worth for prev gen car

Using from last one and half year and worked perfectly fine. Shows route / driving patterns / battery status / history/ WiFi in car . From 2nd year charges 599 . To me its perfectly good companion. Only issue is jio connectivity which has been concern since while .

Excellent purchase

Excellent product...no need to say more.Only 2 things to remind before buy.1. It connects with obd plug but it needs definatelly one connection cable extra because device need space u can plug it without extra cable but you will not close that port door.2. It has no inbuilt battery so it gets switch off after car ignition off but in every 2 or 3 hours you can see it live active in jio things app easily.These are not faults of jio motive but it is just a info. That should be aware of these kind of things.Othere wise simple to install.More info than other devices.

Excellent GPS Tracker Highly Recommended

Excellent and highly recommended! This GPS tracker is especially useful for people staying in PGs or places without proper parking. It is suitable for tracking purposes without wire cutting, which is also helpful for insurance-related concerns with other GPS devices. I have been using it in my Tata Tiago for a month, and Im completely satisfied with the product. Highly recommended!

Works well after the troubles of installation and activation are over!

I got this product for my Tata Altroz 2024 model and here is my review after a month of use:-1. Like most of the reviews I came across, the size of the product is not suitable for every car, when directly connected to the port, the fuse cover does not fix.It worked for me only after I got an obd extension cable, and with extension also it does the work.2. Initially when we tried to install using the extension, the product failed to even turn on, however we tried taking it out and installing few times over and thereafter it worked.3. Installation is easy, but it is a slight bit of trouble to try connecting to the network initially but if done as per instructions on the manual, it takes time but works accurately.4. Installation on the app took about 4 hours for our device to activate.5. The updates or alerts have a delay of 30 secs or a min to update but that is a minor problem which did not bother us much.If you want a budget device for tracking your vehicle, this works wonders, after getting through the troubles of installation ofcourse!Overall it is a good product, if you are looking to not spend exorbitant amount on gps. Satisfied with the purchase.

Amazing tracking device for your fleet

Uneconomical option @362 per month

I purchased for 3999 in June 2025. One year it worked fine but after renewal of plan by paying subscription charge 706.82/- on 06 June 2026, it stopped working on 22 July 2026. I feel it's not economical by paying 4705.82 for one year.On persuasion, I have been advised to Connect the device to a laptop using a USB cable but normal usb cable can't be used for obd2 to usb connection.Such cable may be available for approx 2000/- plus... It implies that in place giving me direct solution to defective device, Jio is now asking me to spend another 2000/- to access the Web GUI interface over laptop.Buying a 2000+ cable is not a viable solution for the issue. The solution given by Jio is likely technically incorrect or based on a misunderstanding of how the JioMotive device works because:-1. Device (JioMotive) has a Male OBD connector (pins sticking out) designed to plug into a car.2. Most Cables (OBD to USB) on Amazon also have a Male OBD connector because they are designed to plug into a car's female port to diagnose the car, not to connect an OBD device to a laptop.3. The cable cannot be physically plugged into JioMotive device because both have the same \"Male\" connector. It would need a specialized \"Female-to-USB\" adapter or a \"bench harness,\" which is complex, rare, and not what is typically sold on Amazon for consumer use.4. No \"Web GUI\" for Consumers. The JioMotive is a \"Plug & Play\" device. It is designed to be configured solely through the JioThings mobile app via the cellular network (eSIM), not via a wired USB connection to a laptop.5. There is no publicly available software or \"Web GUI\" that allows a user to fix a defective JioMotive device via USB. Even if I somehow manage to connect it, my computer would likely not recognize it without specific, proprietary drivers that Jio does not provide to customers.6. Last but not the least, Spending 2000+ to fix a device that costed me 4605.82 (now ~3000) including subscription for current year makes little financial sense. It's again risking 66% of the device's current value on a solution that has a high probability of failing.Apropos, The advice to buy an expensive, incompatible cable to fix a defective device feels like a stalling tactic rather than a real solution. It is frustrating when customer support gives technically incorrect advice to a unsuspecting customer instead of taking responsibility for a faulty product and giving out a viable solution by replacement.It is deemed faulty right after renewal, I expect a refund or a device replacement.
